Welcome to Tadcaster and Rural – your community company for your community projects. We are a ‘Community Interest Company’ (CIC) which means we are a not-for-profit social enterprise. Our Directors are all volunteers and none of the monies we receive for project delivery is paid to external shareholders.
Tadcaster and Rural were established at the start of 2014 as a new not-for-profit social enterprise. We were established as a way of driving forward new projects and initiatives for Tadcaster and the surrounding villages – project ideas that come from the community and can be then delivered in and by the community.
We have a Board of Directors and employ an Executive Officer – Mr. David Gluck, who is based in our Bridge Street office.
We strive to develop and deliver projects commissioned by other organisations. So for example, Tadcaster & Rural has recently delivered a government-funded project called Our Place! which provides resources for communities like ours to look at new ways of delivering services more locally and more efficiently. That work has, in turn, led to undertaking feasibility work into the future management of the Manor Farm building on St Joseph’s Street, currently owned and run by North Yorkshire County Council.
